FrontierMap is a tool and conceptual framework hosted under JOPRO’s Society Ethics Technology (SET) working group, and affiliated with Orthogonal Research and Education Lab’s “Epistemological Directories” research thrust.

Overview

FrontierMap is an AI-augmented learning and research tool that helps individuals build rigorous, context-rich “maps” of emerging or complex fields.

In an era of accelerating discovery and cross-disciplinary convergence, innovators face a fundamental challenge: how to meaningfully orient themselves within a rapidly shifting intellectual landscape. FrontierMap addresses this by blending structured epistemic frameworks with the power of generative AI, guiding users to surface:

  • Key figures & landmark studies that shaped the field.
  • Major themes & open controversies that define current debates.
  • Divergent schools of thought and their philosophical underpinnings.
  • Historical trajectories & future scenarios, fostering a sense of time depth and continuity.
