Futures Center / FrontierMap
Assist with the development and documentation of the FrontierMap methodology for epistemic orientation in interdisciplinary research. The v1 preprint is in active drafting. The intern would contribute to literature review (interdisciplinary research methods, knowledge cartography, philosophy of science), help develop the worked example section, and potentially conduct a supervised FMap exercise on a concept of their choice as a case study for the paper.
This builds on the OREL-UAlbany 2022 intern cohort model, where interns produced landscape maps of AI and human-centered fields.
Students in philosophy of science, STS, library/information science, interdisciplinary studies, or any field where you have experience navigating complex intellectual landscapes. Graduate students preferred; strong undergraduates with relevant experience considered.
